Introduction to backgrounds

Icon Map Pro provides the ability to use a number of different background map providers, as well as our own Icon Map map tiles.

The map background provider is selection from the visual formatting options in the "Background" section. You can select a background mapping provider from the "Background map source" dropdown.

At launch, Icon Map Pro supports the following map background providers:

• None - do not display a map background
• Icon Map - Icon Map Pro background mapping provided by Tekantis
• Azure Maps
• ESRI - ArcGIS background maps
• Mapbox
• Google Maps
• MapTiler
• Ordnance Survey
• Raster Tiles - custom XYZ raster tiles
• Vector Tiles - custom vector tiles that comply with the TileJSON specification
• WMS - WMS server supporting EPSG:3857

The Icon Map background maps are included within your Icon Map Pro subscription for use within Icon Map Pro. Using Azure Maps, Google Maps, ESRI, Mapbox, MapTiler or Ordnance Survey mapping requires you to obtain an API Key from the relevant provider.
